Notes:
|
Levi Young was a cooper. I think He wood gather
loads of staves and get them ready to sell to the mills. (Making Wooden Pails, Tubs, and Barrels).
He was most likely born Trois
Riveres Quebec, Canada. Every time when married with Susan Reyome,
he would fill out the census saying he father was from France, his
Mother was from Canada, and he was born in Canada. |
Than when he was living with Elizabeth, he would fill out the
census his Father from France, Mother from Canada, but than he
started saying he was born in Maine. |
Susan Reyome had moved back with the youngest child Frederick, she would fill out the census that Frederick's father (Levi)
was from Canada. |
All that was known Levi had 6 children with Susan and 13 children
with Elizabeth. Susan's youngest with Levi "Frederick Young" would
be my Great Grandfather from my mother's side of the family. Than
one of the daughter's of Levi and Elizabeth "Edna Young" would be my
Great Grand Mother on my father's side. So somehow I come across
much information. Than he also had one more child. So twenty
children all
together? |
I find many little different
spellings and some different information in every census. Back
then, most of the people didn't read or write. Than also being French,
maybe many of them spoke very little English or none? So it
probably depended on who was giving the information and also the
translations? It was after when Levi was living with Elizabeth,
all the census started saying he was born in Maine. But all the
info I have looked at so far, I'm sure he was born Trois Riveres Quebec, Canada. |
1836 27, October |
Levi born in Trois Riveres Quebec, Canada. (Death certificate says Cazy NY,
but most likely he was born in Canada). |

Susan had 2 sisters
and 2 brothers. I believe she went to live with her mother in Bangor
NY. From all other information, she had a least one sister still in Bay City Michigan?, also her 5 other children and
Levi. |
There is about 4
years when Susan Left and his first child with Elizabeth. Was
e-mailed by someone who had information on Levi had another child
with one of Susan's sister's? Checked it out and the daughter
would be Delia Reyome. That would have been 3 years after Susan
left. I had found it in the census her living with
Susan in Bangor NY.
So she must have been born 1874 to 1875?
1875 census has her 7 months. She would be the daughter of Felinda
Reyome? in the notes only had of Delia
Reyome: that Married a man
named Lauber. They had a son & daughter. Marian; married Tom Perry
(their daughter Eileen Perry). Have more information: Felinda is
really "Celinda"
and she is the one who had the daughter Delia Reyome/Young. And Susan
had an older sister "Philinda Reyome" who married "Israel Disotell"
The 1880 census just more misspelling. |

the censes Susan said Levi was born NY. Delia most of been the
daughter of Felinda. Her name is spelled different ways, Felinda /
Silinda, I think the correct spelling is Celinda Reyome |
